Painting is an intuitive process, a journey of self-discovery and exploration. As I seek closure with the past, I am exploring the essence of boundaries and that of in-between spaces. I prefer to use acrylic medium for this “unloading of emotion" because I like the determined power of quick drying. My watercolour series examines the idea of making new connections through figurative expression.
I was born and raised in Greece. In 1982, I went to New York where I completed a BFA in interior design at Syracuse University. I spent several years absorbing and loving New York’s energy while working in interior design. After the energizing urbanity of NYC, in 1990 I moved to Vancouver where I discovered the experiential qualities of nature and space. This motivated me to further explore art and design through a degree in Architecture at UBC.
