My photography explores objects as abstract art, photographs that read as paintings, colours found in rusted steel and peeling paint. As a construction project manager, I regularly photograph construction details to facilitate discussions about various construction problems. Slowly, I began to discover artistic composition, form, and vivid colours hidden within the mundane objects that I was documenting. My photographic art is always grounded in this attention to detail and in my desire to discover and reveal a universal beauty in a particular object. As a member of Artists in our Midst (for three years now), I have worked with a community of artists who have willingly offered me artistic feedback and encouragement—and these exchanges have helped me develop my skills beyond my initial expectation.
