Dana Johnson
I am a Vancouver born artist who paints in acrylic. Working in acrylic allows me to create the rustic style of my work. The textured surface adds character and a sense of age to each subject: landscapes, trees, flowers and dresses.
I was consumed by art at an early age. In my 20s, I worked in London, England, where I also studied art. This was my initial introduction to European art, history and culture. When I returned to Canada, I studied painting at Emily Carr University of Art and Design and began my journey in painting. I have been fortunate to travel extensively throughout Europe, and this has influenced and inspired my work. I have participated in numerous group and solo shows. I am an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and I am represented by The Grey Area Gallery in Chilliwack.
