Glenda Leznoff
Although I rely on landscape and the human body to inform the composition of my pieces, I also explore the world of imagination. For me, painting is a combination of intent and accident. The process of applying paint, papers, ink, and charcoal is messy and transformative, and, as in life, I do not always end up where I thought I was going.
I have lived in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. My artistic pursuits include writing, painting and dance. I teach Creative Writing at Douglas College, and I write scripts, plays, stories, children’s books, and magazine articles. I have had an exhibition at the Amelia Douglas Gallery and participated in group shows. My paintings appear in collections across North America. In 2009, I was selected as the poster artist for Rhythm on the Vine, a fundraiser for the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
