Lori Mcgee
I love to create art, whether it is knitting, embroidery, drawing or painting. After years of being a Registered Nurse and raising my children, I felt it was time to return to my first love, art. I began then to explore the realm of watercolour, and my fascination with colour, shapes and patterns. I kept my focus away from realism and I moved towards a stylistic use of watercolour pencils and, watercolour pastels along with collage and other mediums.
I attended the Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and I am an active member of the Canadian Federation of Artists. I joined Artists in Our Midst in 1988. I travelled extensively for many years and this experience is reflected in the colours and the mood of my work. My primary medium is watercolour. I also work in abstract mixed media.
