I love experimenting with acrylic paint, as its fast-drying qualities lend themselves to quick expression and intuitive spontaneity. For balance, I incorporate collage into my work, allowing the careful layering of images to complement my erratic bursts of colour. What excites me about making art is the sense of freedom I experience. Trusting and acting on my intuition provides entryway to an elusive inner world, allowing it expression and form. What emerges is sometimes unexpected and surprising.
My entry into art-making began several years ago. After a pivotal transition, I changed my life-long career path to pursue my passion for the creative arts and never looked back. I was influenced by abstract expressionism and studied with a teacher who focused on intuitive painting. This experience has inspired me to plan workshops on the arts for community leadership programs. It has also led to opportunities to exhibit and sell my works to private collectors.
