Olga Campbell
My work is expressive, intuitive and derived from my life experiences. I love accidents of chance and find that the art process leads me to an end product. I work in a variety of media: sculpture (clay, bronze metal, etc.), mixed media, photography and gicleƩ prints. I am able to take what I learn from one medium and apply it to another. Much of my work is figurative but not rendered realistically.
I have just completed my first book, Graffiti Alphabet, an alphabet book compiled of graffiti that I photographed in the Vancouver area. I have been creating art since 1993 when I graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and have had numerous group shows in Vancouver. I also had a solo exhibition on the Holocaust, Whispers Across Time, a tribute to my family, at the Sidney and Gertrude Zack Gallery in Vancouver. Currently, I am a member of the Art Institute in sculpture at Capilano University.
