ABOUT azumi
I love to study the transformative quality of nature, how light changes and impacts plants and flowers. Through my paintings I communicate my own impressions and observations of nature. As I travelled many countries in the world, I have always been drawn to exotic sceneries; however, recently the beauty of the things that surround my everyday life comforts me.
I began my interest in painting as a child in Tokyo, Japan and studied painting privately with one artist for most of my youth. After graduating university, I moved overseas and resided in Honolulu, New York and Toronto. Vancouver is now my home. I have been fortunate to participate in many workshops and college courses in painting in various cities.
