Doug Williams began his photography after graduating from U of Calgary when he became an magazine editor. Next stop was studying in Edmonton at NAIT in a 2 year commercial photography program. After the requisite years of further study and commercial practice in Vancouver, he has focused his artistic interests on architecture, landscapes, and travel, although people photos tempt his creativity too.
His work is clear, crisp and graphic with a dynamic sense of composition. He and his talented wife Donna have become a strong and creative team. Donna has an eye for editing Doug’s photo books and curating his photographs. They have traveled to Colombia, Nepal, Crete, Spain and the US, exploring and hiking on more remote trails. Their home is a visual feast of a wonderful and worldly palette of photographs. Doug teaches photography at Langara College and at False Creek Community Centre.
