ABOUT Patricia
I use expressive colour, organic shapes and rhythm to explore nature’s complexity, fragility and beauty in my acrylic and mixed media abstract paintings. Inspired by experiences in Canada’s north, sailing, and love of gardening, I aim to recreate the feeling of being in nature. Always seeking creative expression, my roles as a mother, lawyer and author led me along different paths. When I painted briefly during the 1990s, my paintings were selected for a two-person show at The Contemporary Gallery. Since returning to art, my paintings have been juried into solo exhibitions at The Hycroft Gallery and The Michael Wright Art Gallery, and group exhibitions at The Gallery George, Federation Gallery and other venues in Greater Vancouver. I now create full time at my studio near the ocean. I hope to inspire others to cherish and protect the natural world. I donate a portion of sales to environmental organizations.
